Home Workouts in The Q
Something I’ve recently been seeing is people struggling to get in a good home workout. Personally, falling out of a normal workout routine can really affect my mental health. I’m sure a lot of people can relate, so I wanted to share what I’ve been doing to keep me going.
Mini bands
If you don’t have weights, this is a great alternative. Although I do have weights, I’ve actually been incorporating bands into a ton of my workouts. You can either use these as a warm-up for activation, or you can use them for a full workout. You can find these on Amazon for less than $20, and it’s definitely worth it.
Alomoves
Recently, I’ve discovered the website Alomoves. For anyone who likes barre, yoga, or bodyweight workouts, this website has a huge selection. It’s a whole video library full of different instructors, class lengths, and types of classes. You can currently get a 14-day free trial, so you can always try it out and see if you like it.
Orangetheory Videos
Another thing I’ve used for inspo is the Orangetheory website. Since quarantine, they’ve been posting public workout videos for anyone to watch. Normally, OTF is my main workout, so this is really helpful. Also, if you’ve ever considered joining Orange Theory, this is a great way to test it out.
Stairs
If you’re like me, cardio is always incorporated into your workouts. Since I don’t have a treadmill at home, it’s not as easy to get in that cardio aspect. However, if you have stairs in your home, this is just as good as running. My sister and I run stairs for a certain amount of time, then do different workouts in between. This has been a great way for us to get our heart rates up.
Also, side note, obviously I’m not an expert in fitness, but this is what I like to do:)
